“Dear Mr. President, under your leadership, Venezuela continues Commander Hugo Chavez’s policy of strengthening the country’s sovereignty and showed a good growth rate of 5.5 percent last year. This year, the growth rate will be over 7 percent,” Putin said.

“Therefore, I am sure that you are absolutely on the right track and that the legitimate government formed under your leadership after the elections has certainly done a lot for the development of Venezuela and the cooperation with other countries, including with our BRICS organization,” he added.

Previously, President Maduro pointed out that “Russia and Venezuela have built indestructible political and moral ties that have been put to the test in all these years,” and expressed his admiration for the battle that Russia is waging against Nazism and fascism.

“Putin has been able to lead the people of Russia on all fronts,” the Bolivarian leader emphasized, recalling that Venezuela and Russia have strengthened political, economic, and cultural ties in recent years.

On November 7, the Russia-Venezuela Joint Commission will meet in Caracas, where senior officials from both countries will continue to strengthen and expand areas of bilateral cooperation. On several occasions, the Venezuelan leader has emphasized that his nation is ready and willing to receive Russian investments in all areas.

The Russian president was one of the first leaders in the world to support Nicolas Maduro’s victory in the presidential elections held on July 28. Besides highlighting that Venezuela is “an old and reliable partner of Russia in Latin America,” Putin ratified that relations between both nations will continue to be strengthened through several projects in energy, pharmaceuticals, and transportation.
